In Hindu mythology Kuber, is the God of Money and the deity of the semi-divine Yakshas. Kubera is generally shown with a chubby body, decked with gemstones, and clutching a money-pot and a club. Kubera formerly governed Lanka, but was deposed by his demonic half-brother Ravana, who later settled in the Himalayan city of Alaka. Kubera is also included in the Buddhist and Jain pagan religions. In Buddhism, he is known as Vaisravana, the Hindu Kubera's folk etymology, and is also associated with Pa cika, whilst in Jainism, he is called Sarvanubhuti.
