Goddess Lakshmi Kalighat Painting with Wealth Pot and Owl

The goddess Lakshmi is seen in this water colour painting holding a pot of wealth and an owl. Her plumage glows like the sun rising, and she has a beautiful expression on her face, making her appear to be the epitome of beauty. She is holding a long, towering pot of wealth embellished with stylized patterns in her left hand, representing her nature as the giver of wealth, love, and success, while her right hand is in the blessing mudra. She is dressed in a sophisticated pleated narangi saree with a tricolor border and tiny golden flower patterns, which is complemented with an ethnic kamarband to complete her ensemble. Her sacred vahana owl, which is painted in a pure white color, is seated next to her. This painting is from our kali ghat collection from Bengal. Available in size 28"x28" in excellent condition.
