Panchakanya is a collection of five revered women from the Hindu epics from Ravi Verma collection whose names are said to drive away sin when chanted. They are Mandodari, Tara, Kunti, Tara, Ahalya, and Draupadi. Ahalya, Tara, and Mandodari are all characters from the epic Ramayana, whereas Draupadi and Kunti are from the Mahabharata. In one perspective, the panchakanya are revered as perfect wives and chaste women. Their relationships with other men besides Draupadi and occasionally breaching customs are forbidden so that others won't imitate them.
