Rare Brass SEER Measuring Cup

The Standards of Weights and Measures Act of 1956 legally determined that the seer, a historic unit of mass and volume, was equal to 0.93310 kg, or 2.057131 lb. Previously, different regions of the country had varied interpretations of the measurement: a seer was equal to 80 tolas of rice in Bengal; a seer was equal to 80 tolas of rice in the north; and a seer was equal to 80 tolas of rice in the south.
